Edgar Espino is a self-taught illustrator who began his artistic endeavors in early 1995. A year later, he began creating works that portrayed the female form after discovering the world of adult fantasy illustration in the 1996 May issue of Heavy Metal magazine.

In 2004, he came in contact with Kevin Eastman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creator and owner of Heavy Metal magazine, who immediately discussed the possibility of publishing Espino's work. A few months later, the piece entitled "Fearless Serenity" appeared on the back cover of the Heavy Metal 2004 September issue, followed by a gallery feature in the 2005 March issue thus coming full circle with what originally drew Espino's attention to fantasy and erotic illustration.

The works done during that period, presented chronologically in this website, represent a personal admiration for the female spirit through Pin-Up, Fantasy, and erotic images. They depict the very profound and personal feelings experienced during the time each piece was created.

In 2005, Espino went into hiatus from fantasy illustration, working on various personal commissions and experimenting with other kinds of art. He is now happily married and living in Chicago. Although not currently creating new Pin-Up, Fantasy, erotic images, his works have become a nice and welcomed addition to the world of erotic and fantasy illustration among the likes of great artists such as Lorenzo Sperlonga, Armando Huerta, and Carlos Cartagena.
